The CCSS for ELA with the 15% additional standards that Kansas added in the spring of 2012 is now available.  Kansas added a set of new Anchor Standards called Literacy Learning as well as two more Anchor Standards to Reading and Writing each.  Kansas did not, however, add any grade-specific standards.

Determine questions you have in your grade band based on the Sunflower Literacy Project.

Read chapters 2 & 3 in Navigating the ELA CCSS book.  (Do not have to read chapter 1 unless you choose to.)

Read 8 Essential Questions (think about alignment and changes)

What do we present to staff in January about our ELA work?

How do we want to report back to the buildings? (at faculty meetings?)
